Paracuru is a tropical city 80 km North of Fortaleza. Its origins date back to the late sixteenth century, and already in 1888 it was the village called Alto Alegre do Parazinho; in 1951 is elected city. At that time, the economy was entirely base on agriculture (fruits, sugar cane, cassava) and fishing, using their traditional fishing boats called Jangadas. Nowadays, thanks to the perfect conditions to practice water sports, it became an international sport center. With its 20 km of unpolluted beaches and its natural parks, Paracuru has the most varied ecosystem in the whole Costa del Sol Ponente.
